Spotify Acquires AI Startup
Spotify announced that they recently acquired Paris based machine learning starup Niland.
Niland uses AI technology to offer high performance music search & recommendation engines to innovative music companies. The technology is made easily accessible by an API, allowing catalogue owners and music providers to build a new generation of intelligent music applications.
Headquartered in Paris, Niland was founded in 2013. Spotify said they will be using Niland’s technology to optimise music search and recommendation capabilities, surfacing the right content to the right user at the right time.
The team from Niland will join the New York office and help Spotify continue innovating and improving the recommendation and personalisation technologies resulting in more music discovery which benefits both fans and artists.
